This just in...

Ok, I'm unemployed. Unemployed and very very happy about it actually. The year or so I've worked at this company have been rather interesting. It all started out great as usual, you worked on great projects, you delivered great work, had lots of fun, you got payed, you were promised a nice bonus... but soon enough those nice projects got canned, and your bonus are nowhere to be seen. Hell, you don't even get your regular pay, and to top it of you notice that your bosses are the frontpage news in the morningpaper with a not so flattering headline. So, I'm very happy this is all over now. Time to look for a new job!

Also, I finally managed to make my Knight of the Temple available as a print now. The other images will follow, sooner or later.

The last year I worked in a studio that developed games for the Gizmondo handheld console. Don't laugh. As for a new job, I think I will stay in the game biz for a few more years, unless something else comes up. I've applied for a couple of Australian companies so far, but will keep my eyes open for anything interesting.

Why should I laugh? I'd love to work in the game industry in the future, and I think by now handheld consoles are pretty powerful already and allow for some nice games. But yeah, it's still a long way until I'm that far.
Hm, by the way, did you study digital art, and if so, where? or are you self taught?

Handhelds are pretty powerful now, but the Gizmondo... not as fun as say the PSP.

And no, no art education at all. Self taught. I dont think it's that hard to break into the game biz now actually. If you know how to UV map a model and texture it so it looks like...well something, then you might have a shot.

well to be honest that's exactly where my problems are, right now... the unwrapping. whenever I get so far with my model I stop from frustration. but I must say that I haven't really dealt with 3d intensively yet, made only a few 3d pics, which are really good. I think I better master 2d first before stepping into 3d.
and there are just many things that interest me... painting, matte painting, design, 3d....I guess I should decide, but oh well...
